Transnational Justice Film Competition

We are excited to bring the ambitious vision for KTLS18 to life by concurrently hosting a Transnational Justice Film Competition: Celebrating Resistance, Love and Empowerment in an Era of Globalisation.

The purpose of the competition is to provide a platform for grass-roots organisations to voice their interpretation of the conference themes – environment, economy, health, migration, inequality – through a creative lens. We invite artists, including students, from around the world to submit videos in all categories: animation, documentary, experimental and drama work, new media, music, motion, multi-media, narrative fiction.

Filmmakers of the best six movies will be invited to attend the Summit on Thursday 12 April 2018 where their film will be screened to an international audience. We will also be awarding a special prize to a winning student entry from High and Secondary School, College, University or Film School.

Submissions to the Transnational Justice Film Competition are now closed. Thank you to everyone who has submitted their films for consideration via FilmFreeway.com. We have received an overwhelming response with nearly 1000 applications and we look forward to announcing the winners at the Summit on Thursday 12 April.

We will be discussing the role of filmmakers, photographers and writers in the democratic world throughout the conference. Take a look at the Summit programme.
